The Colosseum is a dual overdrive from Cornerstone and represents a reinterpretation of the Blues Breaker and Klon circuits. With the Clolosseum, the Italian family company has developed a powerful overdrive pedal that brings some great features – both overdrives can be integrated into an effect chain or into an Amp loop independently of each other. As a dual overdrive, the core of the Colosseum consists of two different circuits: on the one hand, the right side was modelled on the legendary Blues Breaker, on the other hand the left circuit is based on the popular Klon Centaur overdrive. Cornerstone Colosseum: features in detail. While both sides of the Colosseum have the conventional volume, tone and gain controllers, Cornerstone provides each circuit with another controller: by means of the clean controller, the clean signal can be mixed as desired into the BB circuit, resulting in great sound flexibility. The left-hand K circuit in turn has its own clip regulator, with which the clipping behavior of a silicon diode and a germanium diode can be controlled or mixed. This allows unique overdrive sounds to be individually adjusted and modified to personal taste. Furthermore, the colosseum comes with a separate effect grinding path for both overdrives, whereby both effects can be integrated independently of one another into the effect chain of a pedal board or an amps. In addition, the internal sequence of both circuits can be determined by a central tilt switch (K-BB or BB-K). Overall, the Colosseum delivers flexible adjustment features and provides a lot of comfort on the pedalboard with its effect grinding path.
