The epitome is the newest multi-effect device of the agile manufacturer. Electro-Harmonix has baptized his three epitome – which means nothing else than a work that represents a short demolition of a larger work. Well, in this demolition there are three popular individual effects – Holy Grail Plus (Hall), Stereo Electric Mistress (Chorus/Flanger) and Micro Pog (Oktaver) – combined in a quite handy, or footlike case. Construction Electro-Harmonix EpitomeThe three effects can be activated both individually and in combination with each other. Despite the relatively small housing, no single controller was dispensed with – everything is on board. Plus a small switch called Shimmer, which keeps hidden in the field of Holy Grail Plus and brings amazement at various effect combinations. But later more, we first look at the three effects separately. The Micro Pog adds further signals to the original signal – an octave lower and an octave higher. Both octaved signals are individually adjustable in their volume. Chorus and Flanger are united in the Electric Mistress, it is practically a multi within a multi. Both effects are individually adjustable in their mixing ratio to the original sound, the rate controller simultaneously controls the modulations of both effects. In the control range from the left stop to about 10 o'clock position, the legendary filter matrix, known from the Electic-Mistress-Urahn of the 70s, is activated, which enables manually fixed control of the modulations of both effects and thus allows sounding sounding in the best sense to sound out remarkably. The signal flow in the epitome normally (shimmer from ) is as follows: In > Micro Pog > Electric Mistress > Holy Grail Plus > Out. When Shimmer mode is activated, Electric Mistress and Holy Grail exchange their seats. If the Holy Grail mode selector switch is on Spring, Hall or Room, the epitome is in the normal Shimmer mode, in which the Hall signal only acts on the octaved signals of the Micro Pog, but not on the original signal. If the Flerb/Echo mode is selected in Holy Grail Plus and the Shimmer mode is activated at the same time, the Holy Grail acts as a delay (echo) in which the AMT controller now determines the delay time between 25 and 590 ms. If the Micro Pog is not activated in this configuration, the signal is repeated only once. In the case of activated Micro Pog, any number of repetitions can be determined with its controllers, specifically separately for the two octaved signals.
